Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Central Arkansas Urban Wildlife Project

Many wildlife species call cities their home, but these animals are often shy and secretive, and are therefore difficult to see. However, it is important to understand what types of wildlife live in urban areas and how these animals’ behavior changes when they live in cities. This information can help people learn what wildlife species live in their area and how to live with these animals.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) is tasked with conserving and enhancing Arkansas's fish and wildlife and their habitats while promoting sustainable use, public understanding and support. Therefore, the AGFC has partnered with Hendrix College to start a research project in July 2020 studying wildlife living in and around Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Maumelle in central Arkansas.
