Wildlife is finding its way into urban habitats, and share these with human neighbors. So far, we know little about the dynamics of habitat use of different species in urban environments. Within the  UWIF-project , we document the occurrence of wildlife along a gradient of urbanization using wildlife cameras.

We are part of the  Urban Wildlife Information Network (UWIN)  and collect our data following a given design, as our partners in over 30 cities in northern America do. This allows us a joint data analysis. Freiburg is the first location in Europe joining the network.
